Ken Smith

Ken and THG CEO Mark Hennick first worked together at CrescentCare, a federally qualified health center serving over 14,000 patients across the Greater New Orleans region, where their five-year collaboration laid the foundation for a lasting professional partnership and friendship. What became clear in that time is what sets Ken apart: he is the kind of technologist who meets complexity head-on. His approach to security is equally distinctive. Ken thinks ten steps ahead, anticipating vulnerabilities and closing gaps before they become issues, a discipline that has earned him a well-deserved reputation as one of the most security-minded professionals in the field.

Throughout his career, in addition to serving as the Senior Director of Information Technology at CrescentCare, Ken has held senior IT leadership roles at Xavier University of Louisiana, global engineering firm Toyo Engineering & Construction, the JW Marriott Houston Downtown, and technology consulting firm Geocent Technologies - a cross-sector depth that informs how he approaches every client engagement. His specialties include cybersecurity risk management and governance, cloud transformation (Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS), HIPAA regulatory compliance, ITSM implementation, and enterprise infrastructure modernization. Ken is also an FAA Certified Drone Pilot and holds a Bachelor of Science from Southern University and A&M College.
